Invisible Hills

Odd that I have never heard this statement before, "invisible hills". I love it! A friend of mine read a post my wife wrote on Facebook. She stated the wind made our Saturday ride terribly hard. She got a response from my friend "invisible hills". Yep, it just makes you work harder, get stronger and of course tougher. I bet Jens Voigt doesn't stop training when the wind is whooping up.

On a positive note, if you have a headwind one way, you have a tailwind the other. Although Vegas is on another level when it comes to wind. We seem to have a head wind no matter what direction you go.

New Bont Vaypor!

Although Bont seems relatively new to the cycling market, they have been around since 1975 making speed skates for some of the fastest skaters in the world. If you have taken notice, more and more pros are wearing these shoes. Guys like Dave Z, Mick Rogers, Thor, Wigo, Julian Dean, and the list goes on and on. Why, you may ask? Because they are the lightest, stiffest, baddest shoes around. They are also 100% heat moldable unlimited times. Not only that, they look sweet; and who doesn't want to look like their favorite pro when they are sippin' that Grande, non fat, double shot, latte at the local cyclist coffee haunt?

I was kind of the Imelda Marcos of cycling shoes for a while. I think I have owned every high end shoe available. Just like women say, "shoes make the outfit".  I think a good looking, high end cycling shoe will make even the worst looking kits look just a little bit better. Of course, the shoe has to work and fit you right. So no matter how awesome, rad, boss, cherry, keen, etc the shoe looks, it must be light, stiff, and comfortable. Before I opened my fit studio I got a pair of Bonts. I never looked back. I loved the darn shoes so much I decided to carry them in my shop.

Being a Bont dealer has been fun. I have really seen the company progress quickly with their cycling line. Since they are still all hand made, they make changes all the time and always for the better. Each pair of shoes actually takes 5 days to build. I don't always have a lot of shoes on hand because I am just a one man, very small shop and can't afford to have full size runs in stock. Honestly, it works out for the best. Since most of the shoes we get are ordered specifically for the customer, the end user knows they are not getting old stock that may not have the extra vent holes, or the newest style rubber toe cap. We can even order extra wide shoes, custom color combos, their name on the straps, 4hole, 3hole, two different size shoes, laces, laces and a velcro cover (which is totally cool like Wigo!), all velcro, velcro and a buckle, you name it I can get it!

Now, where was I? Oh yeah, the new Vaypor! Not available till around February, the newest addition to the Bont line is going to be based off the CTT shoe. It will have more ventilation,  Suede L Liner, lighter than the A1, Bont's super low A1 based sole/stack height and of course my favorite part; looks! And damn, is it a sweet looking shoe?  I think my trusty A1s will get a break when the Vaypor becomes available. Man, I hope they make them in chartreuse....just kidding. White will do me fine.

Call me if you have any questions on any of the Bont shoes. John @ Logical Fit! 702-530-2345

Hubba Hub!

To my knowledge these super light hubs are not available to the public, but when they are look out for some really light wheel builds. For those of you that don't know, the very popular 2010 Shimano Dura Ace 7900 front hub is considered to be decently light at 126 grams. Dash's rear hub sits lighter than most other company's front hubs at an astonishing 98 grams!!!!! How much do they cost you ask? From the cyclingtechblog; about $1000.00.

Our First Blog Post!
